January 9, 2012 trail report

I did not think that it would be so far into the season with no rideable snow, but that is the case. There is a possible storm coming up the coast this week! We will have to wait and see. We did 240+ hours of equipment usage on the trails to repair the storm damage and repaired 7 bridges, one of them twice! I talked about it in the next issue of the VAST News. We have two areas that ar not passable this year. Trail 407  from RD 16 to RD651 has 2 bridges gone and trail#4 from RD67 [the black swamp road – ccc road intersection] to WR80 [ccc road – route 100 intersection] is closed because of a MAJOR WASHOUT. Do not try to travel in these closed areas, your life may depend on it! If we get some rideable snow I will post it. Our club meetings are the second tuesday of every month at 7:00 at the South Station on Main Street in Rutland . Every one is welcome and encourged to attend. Ride Safely and Ride Right!

April 3,2011 Trail Report

I groomed most of our trails early this morning. The high elevation trails are in great shape! There was several inches of new snow. The closer that you get to RT4 is where you find theless snow, past rd650 heading north and west. The is still great rideing and no water crossings that sleds have to go thru. Early morning rides will be the best, like this morning the sunrise was beautiful! It doesnot get much better than that! Ride for spring contions and ride safely! When I get all the stats for the grooming season I will post them for every one.

March 30, 2011 Trail Report

If any one has photos or stories about rides in Shrewsbury please send them to limark@optonline.net. Thank You.Ride safely!

March 29, 2011 Trail Report

Gary and Minnie groomed our trails yesterday. They are still really nice up high but as as you get closer to RT 4 it gets thinner. There are still no open water crossings that sleds have to go thru! Maybe more snow later this week! Ride safely.

March 26, 2011 Trail Report

Dad and I was out grooming last night. We groomed 4&7 and 407. The trails are still very nice over all. The north end of 407 and 4&7 north of RD650 has some lean areas and will be the first to get bare as the temps warm up next week. There are no open water spots that the sleds have to go thru at this time! Ride for the spring conditions and Ride Safely!

March 23, 2011 Mistake

The person that helped Scott with the water crossing was Charlie Barker on of our new club members! SORRY.
